Valmont use the steel coil according to ASTM
Standard produced by Bao Steel with the
strength of the steel exceeding 450Mpa, and with
the world leading" Pre-Cambering" technology to
guarantee deflection requirement. These two
combined factors make our poles light in weight

control on the content of microelement, the
products could reach a satisfying high quality
finishing with traditional hot-dip galvanization.

Due to the importance of the microelement for the
anti-corrosion finishing, Shanghai Valmont uses
its specially ordered steel to guarantee the ultra
high strength of the pole and the quality of
hot-dip galvanize finishing. The Hot-Dip galvanize
finishing guarantee the anti-corrosion of the
transmission pole and could be free of
maintenance for more than ten years under
normal conditions.

Shanghai Valmont maintains a very strict
requirement for high degree of accuracy in
designing and manufacturing to guarantee the
successful slip-joint. Upon the customers' request,

the installation site to help customers with the
slip-joint process.
Fibre-reinforced composite (FRC) or composite
poles are not new to the power industry. In fact,
they have been around since the mid-1950s when
the first of their kind were installed in the
Hawaiian Islands. These materials were originally
used as a solution to pole degradation in
environments where corrosion and harsh weather
conditions were an issue.

Composite offer many advantages to the utility
industry including standardized or custom designs,
low maintenance requirements, high dielectric
strength, resistance to rot and corrosion concerns
and the elimination of damage from insects and
birds. Despite the advantages of composites, past
materials and manufacturing processes did not
resolved certain issues that have kept composites
on the sidelines for years.

Stronger, Lighter, Greener


RStandard modular composite utility poles are the
strongest utility poles on the market today. RS
has created revolutionary strength properties in
their utility poles by combining circumferential
filament winding with its own proprietary axial
fibre placement technology. This process is a
cutting edge development in the composites'
industry and an incredible advancement in utility
pole manufacturing.

Combining this manufacturing technique with RS's
proprietary Version resin system results in an
increased strength-to-weight ratio for RStandard
utility poles. With this significant advantage, RS
has reduced the weight of its poles, while meeting
or exceeding the strength requirements for all
pole classes on the market today.

RStandard utility poles are significantly lighter than other utility poles due to the
material they are made with. RStandard poles are made of a combination of Version
resin and fibre. Version resin is unlike any other resin in that it adds strength to the end
product. The additional strength provided by Version and the use of our proprietary
axial fibre placement means less fibre is needed to make RStandard utility poles. The
poles material and the technology used leads to a considerable reduction in overall pole
weight, resulting in lower costs in transporting, storing and installing the poles.


RStandard modular composite utility poles are made with "green" materials. Version
resin is styrene-free ad does not contain volatile organic compounds (VOCs) or
hazardous airborne pollutants (HAPs). RStandard poles also do not require chemical
coatings, unlike other pole materials.

Poles manufactured from the two most common and traditional materials are wood and
steel. Both require protective treatments as well as continuous maintenance to prolong
their lives. These processes are damaging to the environment and can lead to leaching
of chemicals or other contaminants into the soil and water where the poles are installed.

Not only are RStandard modular composite utility structures manufactured using a zero
HAP resin, the finished product does not require chemical treatment and does not leach
hazardous chemicals or VOCs into the environment. In addition to the Stronger, Lighter,
